Considered the most influential architect of the late 20th Century, Aldo Rossi designed his first mass-produced product for Alessi in 1983 as part of the "Tea & Coffee Piazza" project. The La Conica Espresso Coffee Maker quickly became their leading product as well as an iconic design in the 1980s. Rossi believed that the expression of art in design was more important than a product's function. The clean, geometric forms in Aldo Rossi's compositions, a constant presence in many of his architectural designs, are transformed into real objects to be touched and used.
