This long wallet has three main pockets that fold flat but expand to hold cash, cards, and coins. The credit card pocket has 3 sections that keep the cards neatly stacked and vertical for easy access and visibility and holds about 15 credit cards. Handmade in Japan, each wallet is reinforced with cotton fabric lining and complete with Postalco's original cut brass snap closure inspired by the human fingerprint.
This "Nest" pattern is the result of combining two separate pools of fiber colors that swirl and blend together creating the unique pattern reminiscent of the carefully assembled interior of a bird’s nest. Each sheet of Postalco's original Nest Paper is then hand-polished in the traditional method with the famously smooth Tsubaki leaf. The irregularity in color, surface texture and thickness are a part of the handmade nature of Nest Farmer’s Felt paper
Postalco sought to develop a durable, thick leather alternative for a new kind of wallet. A year of development resulted in Farmer’s Felt. Less than half the weight of leather of the same thickness, Farmer’s Felt is an interlocked fiber felt made with the bark of mulberry trees. With use, the wallet fibers relax and Farmer’s Felt molds to the contents carried developing a sheen and patina.
