Designed by Peter Shire (American, 1947-), the Laurel Brooch is part of the 12-piece Melrose Emblematic collection.
The Melrose Emblematic collection was the very first project of ACME Studio. Each piece in the collection was named after a cross street of Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.
It was handmade in the 1980s by the intricate cloisonné process, an ancient technique for decorating metal; hence any imperfections within the colors are to be expected and inherent which makes it unique and one-of-a-kind.
