"Public Bikes" Poster

  • Regular price $700.00

Broken down to its most basic functional elements, the bicycle is one of the most prime examples of modern design. Designed by Paula Scher, this poster takes the bicycle to another level of intricacy and intelligibility, constructing it with the alphabet of its intent, making it an object with a public message. This poster is formal, fun, modern, complex, graceful, and minimalist, and would make a great addition to any home.

Graphic designer, Paula Scher's work spans over 3 decades. She studied at the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, where she was taught the Swiss International Style of typography: Helvetica on a grid. She started her career in graphic design as a record cover art director at both Atlantic and CBS Records in the 1970s. She utilized historical design to design visual parallels, and for its emotional significance and instantaneous appeal to contemporary audiences.

Paula Scher is the recipient of the 2013 National Design Award for Communication Design.
