The NASA Graphics Standards Manual is an introduction to NASA's then-new style guide, issued in January 1976 featuring the new "Worm" logo, with an introduction by NASA Administrator Richard Truly. Richard Danne and Bruce Blackburn's design is a futuristic vision for an agency at the cutting edge of science and exploration.
All images of the 1975 NASA Graphics Standards Manual, 1974 presentation to NASA, and The Manager’s Guide to NASA Graphics Standards contained in this edition have been scanned from the private archive of Richard Danne. The original manual was in a ring-binder format.
Standards Manual is a New York City based independent publishing imprint founded by designers Jesse Reed and Hamish Smyth in 2014, striving to archive and preserve lost artifacts of design history and make them available to future generations.
