Country Italy

Manufacturer Alessi
Designed by Aldo Rossi (Italian, 1931–1997) between 1980 and 1983, Il Conico kettle shares the cone shape of La Conica espresso maker. It was Rossi's first mass-produced design and immediately became Alessi's leading product, as well as an iconic design in the 1980s.

The element of cones is a constant presence in Rossi's architectural creation.

The mirror-polished creamer and sugar bowl set designed by Michael Graves (American, 1934–2015) references objects that are common in Anglo-Saxon and European countries where creamers and sugar bowls are part of tabletop decoration.

Aldo Rossi's Il Conico Kettle is in Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection.
