When Bill Stumpf and Don Chadwick designed the Aeron Chair, they combined a deep knowledge of human-centered design with cutting-edge technology to create a work chair unlike any other. Aeron’s PostureFit SL® technology affords the ideal sit — chest open, shoulders back, pelvis tilted slightly forward. Adjustable pads provide lumbar support and stabilize the base of the spine for the perfect balance of ergonomics and comfort.

  • Adjustable PostureFit SL back support
  • Adjustable tilt and seat angle
  • Fully adjustable arms (height, depth and angle)

  • Made in Michigan at a 100% green-energy facility

We offer sizes B and C, please see Herman Miller's size and fit document to see which option is best for you.

Aeron is now offered in a range of 3 tightly curated, holistic material expressions: graphite, carbon, and mineral. Graphite refines Aeron's original color scheme for a crisp, sculptural appearance. Carbon blurs light and dark, and warm and cool, to harmonize with a variety of environments. Mineral illuminates Aeron's finer points to offer a lightness that borders on translucence.

The Aeron Chair is in the Cooper Hewitt permanent collection.

Herman Miller was founded in 1905 as the Star Furniture Company in Zeeland, Michigan. By 1919, Dirk Jan De Pree, president of the company, and his father-in-law, Herman Miller, had become majority stock holders in the firm and renamed it for Miller. During the Great Depression, the company explored new products and manufactured furniture of modern design in order to increase sales. Working with designers such as Gilbert Rohde by the early 1940s, and later with George Nelson, Charles and Ray Eames, and Alexander Girard, the company manufactured a number of pieces that are now considered icons of mid-20th century modernist furniture. The company also focused on producing innovative office furnishings and furniture systems. Herman Miller, Inc. continues today to create cutting-edge and sustainable design for both the home and the workplace. Herman Miller is the recipient of the 2003 National Design Award for Product Design.
