Taking memories, good and bad, Shonquis Moreno takes the ‘imagery’ of the moment and the memory, and manipulates it down to the core color in pixels. This abstraction is both a form of therapy and of creating a ‘textile’ of life, the patterns we weave everyday. The Fabrika Scarf is digitally printed on 14-mime silk twill these scarves make beautiful new memories for you.

Brooklyn-based Shonquis Moreno is new to making, but not new to thinking about making. As a former editor for Frame, Surface and Dwell magazines who currently writes on a freelance basis for publications such as T The New York Times Sunday Magazine, Wallpaper, Metropolis, and American Craft, among others, she has been observing the genesis of textiles, architecture, interiors, furniture, window display, scenography, fashion and graphic design, as well as 'design-art' for nearly 15 years (You can see her writing portfolio). The author of numerous books and essays published by Gestalten, Birkhauser, Berg and Frame, Moreno has lately turned her attention to learning firsthand how to make objects, herself. Her interest lies particularly in surface pattern, texture and color and in producing anything from upholstery fabric, wallcoverings and tiles to carpets and handbags.
