With elegant curves, a patinated brass base, and a polished top, this pair of candlesticks exemplifies Carl Auböck’s style. Famous for his brass objects, Carl Auböck was one of the leaders of Austrian modernism, and his iconic pieces are still produced today. The Werkstätte Carl Auböck handcrafts everything in Vienna to the highest standards of craftsmanship.

In 1926, after two years at the Bauhaus School, CARL AUBÖCK returned to Austria to take over his father’s workshop. Over the next ten years Auböck developed the style that would make him famous and beloved of contemporaries such as Walter Gropius, Richard Neutra and Charles Eames. At the Triennale de Milano in 1954, he was award four gold medals for his work and today he is remembered as one of the masters of Austrian modernism. Auböck pieces are collected globally by tastemakers like Diane von Furstenberg and Michael Maharam, and Carl Auböck’s grandson, Carl Auböck IV, continues to run the Auböck Werkstätte today.
